Female commentary on the BBC
It might just be me but why are there so many female commentators on the bbc, the commentaries or reports are so bloody high pitched my ears are still fucking ringing!

Good of you to warn them, but that scenario is never going to trouble any of the blokes on this thread.

I think some of the old women on this thread have hit the snowballs and babycham a bit early.

Okay for them to do women's matches.
But in men's when there is something going on and their voices go up a level, it highlights it's not a good mix.

Alison Mitchell drives me made when she commentates.

Yes she knows her stuff but let her concentrate on women’s cricket.

I feel I need to warn you that women can get quite high-pitched if sexually excited.

Just passing on what I've been told.

Maybe a load of bollocks...

Re: Female commentary on the BBC
Bet all 4 of them faced pretty quick bowling in their time. Tony Cozier played in the top tier of Caribbean club cricket. He would definitely have experienced a few balls zinging past his ear.

That said, I think you’re right, some of the best commentators weren’t pros, and some of the worst were.

Sorry but that is bollocks as that would preclude any commentator who hadn't played test cricket and would have deprived us of John Arlott, CMJ, Blowers, Tony Cozier etc.

Re: Female commentary on the BBC
No woman should commentate in any male sport. They have no idea what it's like to get a cricket ball up the nose at 90mph, gang tackled by two 18 stone rugby players or clattered by a bloke in a football match. They are therefore always uninformed. No experience.

Re: Female commentary on the BBC
Agree with the 'too high pitched' comments. When someone gets a throw in they make it sound like a goal has been scored.

It's not a sexist comment. If Joe Pasqualli was commentating, however knowledgeably, it would be equally annoying.

Equally I despise having to listen to Glen Fucking Hoddle and Jim Beglin, among others.

Mrs 66 properly enjoys football, and she can't listen to games being commentated on by a squeaky bint and says it's plain wrong.

I don't mind if they're good but the high pitched screeching is tough on the ear drums.
